This Week’s Deep-Value Landscape: Acquirer’s Multiple Large-Cap Screen

Tuesday, August 18, 2026 · Johnny Hopkins

This week’s Acquirer’s Multiple® Large-Cap screen continues to uncover attractive value opportunities across a broad range of industries, despite ongoing investor enthusiasm for artificial intelligence and mega-cap technology stocks.

While market attention remains focused on AI-related growth stories, this week’s screen highlights attractively valued businesses spanning financials, energy, healthcare, communications, consumer sectors, technology, industrials, transportation, and materials.

Financials are led by Synchrony Financial (SYF), Cigna Group (CI), and Fidelity National Information Services (FIS). Synchrony stands out with an Acquirer’s Multiple of just 2.7x, while Cigna and FIS continue to offer substantial earnings and cash flow at attractive valuations.

Energy remains one of the strongest areas of the screen. Equinor (EQNR), Petrobras (PBR), and APA Corporation (APA) occupy three of the highest positions, with Acquirer’s Multiples of 3.2x, 4.8x, and 5.2x respectively.

Healthcare also offers several compelling opportunities. Sanofi (SNY), Cigna Group (CI), and Bristol-Myers Squibb (BMY) represent established healthcare businesses benefiting from resilient demand and significant earnings and cash flow generation.

Communications and media are led by Telkom Indonesia (TLK), Fox Corporation (FOXA), and Charter Communications (CHTR). These businesses provide exposure across telecommunications, media, broadband, and communications infrastructure.

Consumer-oriented businesses are led by Altria (MO), Fomento Económico Mexicano (FMX), and Best Buy (BBY), providing exposure across tobacco, food and beverage retail, and consumer electronics.

Technology provides several notable opportunities. Cognizant Technology Solutions (CTSH), HP Inc. (HPQ), and SK Hynix (SKHY) combine established competitive positions with attractive valuations relative to many of the market’s higher-priced technology leaders.

Industrials are led by Leidos Holdings (LDOS), First Solar (FSLR), and Otis Worldwide (OTIS), while transportation is represented by Ryanair (RYAAY), UPS (UPS), and FedEx (FDX).

Materials also remain well represented, with CF Industries (CF), Nutrien (NTR), and First Solar (FSLR) offering exposure to fertilizers, agricultural inputs, and the energy transition.

Bottom Line

This week’s screen reinforces that attractive valuations remain available well beyond the market’s AI-driven leaders. Energy remains particularly prominent, while opportunities across financials, healthcare, communications, consumer businesses, and technology provide considerable diversification for long-term value investors.
